here we go...

I'll try to update this pretty frequently, mostly pictures of progress. We're building a 1500 sq ft house on 12 acres in Dripping Springs, just SW of Austin. The house will be made of insulated concrete forms, structural insulated panels, metal roof, and small amounts of timber (reclaimed if possible). We'll rely exclusively on rainwater catchment for all drinking and home water. We'll start with a solar water heater but it's been designed to be solar friendly for a full system, once we think the efficiency of next-generation systems is economical.

Today (9/30/11), we signed all the final construction loan paperwork... Minor prep work has commenced at the property.
